There is a man buried in Westminster Abbey among kings, queens, and other notables of British history. While everyone buried there would not necessarily be an honorable person in God’s estimation, this man definitely doesn’t deserve such a prestigious burial place.
This man followed upon the “science” of his grandfather and a French scientist named Jean-Baptiste Lamarck. While the other men espoused their ideas more privately and in select circles, our man buried in Westminster Abbey published his work on this day in 1859. His book quickly saturated Europe and came across the waters to the United States, disrupting our educational system to this day. Scientists saw this man’s book as a Holy Grail, explaining mysteries and puzzles that had long been explained from the pulpits but with explanations that were an offense to the scientific minded.
The man was Charles Darwin and his book was On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection.
“Darwin’s theory argued that organisms gradually evolve through a process he called “natural selection.” In natural selection, organisms with genetic variations that suit their environment tend to propagate more descendants than organisms of the same species that lack the variation, thus influencing the overall genetic makeup of the species…
“Origin of Species sold out immediately. Most scientists quickly embraced the theory that solved so many puzzles of biological science, but orthodox Christians condemned the work as heresy. Controversy over Darwin’s ideas deepened with the publication of The Descent of Man, and Selection in Relation to Sex (1871), in which he presented evidence of man’s evolution from apes.”1
By 1882, Darwin’s “scientific” theory was widely accepted as truth. To bridge the gap between Christianity and evolutionists, Canadian geologist John W. Dawson, in his book, The Origin of the World, According to Revelation and Science (1877), introduced the world to Theistic Evolution. This idea essentially teaches that God used the evolutionary process to accomplish the work of creation.
Darwin and Dawson are deluded and deceived. They are also dead and now know the truth!
The origin of species began with three simple words: “And God said.” (Genesis 1:3, 6, 9, 11, 14, 20, 24, 26) How many more times must the Scriptures record “and God said” before we let the record stand that GOD created all things by the spoken word? The original species came into being by God’s direction.
Genesis 1:11 says, “And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.” Genesis 1:24 tells us, “And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.”
Some may argue that this is not scientific and I totally agree. It’s not scientific. It is miraculous! If evolution was scientific, it is an experiment could be repeated. I have yet to see this done!
And scientists cannot explain why, if the evolutionary process is correct, that we still have apes and we still have people and no 
apes are evolving and no humans are devolving. The rules that apply to that which is truly science do not apply to creation.
The person who believes the Bible is far more intelligent than the scientist who tries to disprove it. There will be those in the world who would vehemently disagree with that statement, belittling myself and every Bible believing Christian. But, one day, we will be vindicated when the Creator of the Universe steps onto the world stage with vengeance in His hands.
Till that day, follow closely the instructions of 1 Timothy 6:20-21. “O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: (21) Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.”
